UV Sensor

Invisible light. Precise measurement.

A UV sensor detects ultraviolet radiation or the interaction of UV light with specific gases. The operating principle of a UV sensor is based on the absorption or scattering of UV light by the analyzed medium in contact with the sensor. A detector then measures the change in UV radiation. These measured values can be used to draw conclusions about the concentration or properties of specific substances.

UV sensors are used, for example, for detecting chemical compounds, in process monitoring or in analytical measurement methods. Typical applications can be found in the monitoring of industrial processes, environmental technology as well as medical and biological laboratories.

High Sensitivity

Detects substances even at very low concentrations.

Selective Detection

Specific substances can be selectively detected through their characteristic UV absorption.

Fast Measurement

Enables fast and contactless measurements in real time.

Versatile Use

For numerous applications in industry, environmental technology, medicine and research.

Operating Principle

A UV light source emits radiation that comes into contact with the medium to be analyzed. A detector measures the change in UV radiation. Based on these measured values, conclusions can be drawn about the concentration or properties of specific substances.
